SIP Public Cultural Center devised the French Literature Reading Week themed “When the Ferris Wheel Meets the Eiffel Tower”, blending reading activities with exhibitions, film script reading, literary salon sessions and other activities to promote Sino-French cultural exchanges to extend from traditional reading to a more diversified cultural ecosystem.

A highlight is the exhibition in honor of Antoine de Saint Exupéry, author of The Little Prince. Jointly held by the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Youth Foundation, the Little Prince Foundation and Guangzhou Library, the exhibition displays 62 precious manuscripts and documents, offering deep insights into the writer’s life and literary legacy.

Visitors can view early sketches of the Little Prince drawn by the author himself, an award-winning essay he wrote at age 13, and a letter to a friend penned just one day before his disappearance.

In the interaction zones with different themes, there are nearly 300 carefully selected books, including various editions and rare translations of The Little Prince. The exhibition will last till the end of January 2026.

The Little Prince is one of my favorite books. It is about ideals and courage. I really appreciate this opportunity to learn so much about the author,” a visitor said excitedly.

Other highlights include a lakeside recital session, a photography exhibition, a French letter exhibition, a multimedia reading session, etc.
