The public’s passion for sports is fueled by a strategic shift in SIP’s sports infrastructurefrom ensuring universal access to catering to diverse and specialized needs.

With the northern and southern citizen centers already in operation and the eastern one in construction, a “4+N” citizen center system is taking shape in SIP, creating an increasingly dense fitness service network. The northern and southern centers serve nearly 2 million visitors annually.

Sports infrastructure construction and improvement have been included in SIP’s urban renewal initiatives. In Jinxi Park, new fitness paths blend harmoniously with lush greenery, and Xinghai Park has been transformed into a shared community park friendly to people of all ages. The Jinji Lake Runner Station was operationalized recently to meet the needs of running enthusiasts.

By the end of last year, SIP had seen an increase of 169,300 square meters in the area of sports facilities, bringing the total public sports area to over 5 million square meters, with a per capita area of 4.54 square meters (ranking top in Suzhou).

From the “micro fitness spaces” in communities to professional sports complexes, SIP’s sports facilities have been increasing and upgrading. Among the new facilities are the Sungent International Tennis Center and the Yangchenghu Peninsula Football Park which are typical of projects integrating sports venues with business facilities.
