At 10:18am on July 12, the first vehicles smoothly entered the newly opened Yangming Road Tunnel, marking its official opening to traffic.

This tunnel serves as another critical passage passing under the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway, slashing travel time between Yangcheng Digital Valley and the area north of the railway from 15 minutes to less than three minutes.

The tunnel is part of the project undertaken by Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Renovation & Development Co Ltd for the purpose of improving the traffic conditions in the area. The project, with a total investment of about RMB210 million, covers a 466-meter-long road section designed to enhance efficiency and safety of traffic to Yangcheng Digital Valley.
