Since its formal opening in May 2023, the Suzhou City Terminal of Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) in SIP has served 250,000 passengers and established partnerships with 16 domestic and international airlines. It has made significant progress in building an “Air Service+” ecosystem to improve and expand its services.

The Suzhou City Terminal operates as a comprehensive service hub offering corporate travel, event support and cross-regional commuting solutions. In May 2024, it received the IATA code “SZO”, becoming a terminal of international flights. Last year, the Suzhou City Terminal Service Center came into operation at Shanghai Pudong International Airport to provide international passengers with convenience for travel to Suzhou.

Currently serving 225 enterprises, the terminal provides one-stop services from trip planning to booking and venue support for large-scale events like companies’ annual meetings and industrial seminars. Since 2024, it has established 10 docking points in SIP’s major industrial clusters to provide free shuttle service.

The terminal also takes initiative to take part in diverse events to do its bit in boosting local tourism, and collaborates with airlines to offer passengers more choices and benefits during their travels.

Recently, the terminal was selected one of the outstanding cases of institutional innovations in pilot free trade zones in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as an international air travel facilitation mode for passengers in a city without airport. In the future, it will continue to enhance its “Air Service+” ecosystem through customized business services and improved accessibility for passengers.
