Recently, the People’s Government of Jiangsu and China State Railway Group Co Ltd (China Railway) jointly approved the preliminary design of making Suzhou East Railway Station a destination on the Nantong-Suzhou-Jiaxing-Ningbo High-speed Railway that is under construction.

The Suzhou East Railway Station is scheduled to be set up in the core area of Sangtian Science Island in SIP. With four platforms, it will be an underground high-speed railway hub linking with a number of subway lines and intercity railway lines. It is expected to serve about 180,000 passengers each day after it comes into operation.

Moreover, commercial facilities, hotels and other projects will be developed under the traffic-oriented development (TOD) mode.

The project will help improve the traffic system of Suzhou, and provides great convenience for residents in SIP and the surrounding areas.
